課程概述 |
This 1-unit seminar course conducted primarily in English (Mandarin is optional for undergraduates, but English is highly encouraged) is designed to introduce upper-level undergraduates and graduate students to the basic biology of the Neuromuscular Junction (NMJ) as well as diseases related to NMJs and the motor circuit. Diverse topics including synaptic function, development, elimination, synapse-glia interactions, and diseases of the neuromuscular system (e.g. Muscular Dystrophy, Spinal Muscular Atrophy, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) will be covered. All students should have already taken undergraduate introductory neurobiology or related courses prior to this class.

本課程以英文進行,對象為大學部高年級及研究所,對神經-肌肉接合處在疾病與運動迴路功能有興趣的同學,且應先修習過神經生物學或相關課程。將討論不同的主題,如突觸連結、發育、連結去除、神經突觸與膠狀細胞的交互作用、以及相關疾病及運動神經等相關功能。不僅討論脊椎動物,也將探討蠕蟲、果蠅等模式生物。
正式上課時間則集中於10/16~20、23~27,每日下午5:30~7:30連續上課2周。
